Contemporary or Traditional?
Most kitchens we build sit somewhere along a spectrum between the two, rather than at either extreme. Here's what separates them, and what's on the showroom floor right now.
01
Traditional
Shaker or framed doors, visible handles in brass or bronze, cornicing and pelmets, warmer painted palettes. Suits period homes and farmhouse kitchens.
02
Contemporary
Flat, handleless doors, integrated appliances, a simplified palette and waterfall stone worktops. Suits new builds and open-plan living.
| Feature | Traditional | Contemporary |
|---|---|---|
| Door style | Shaker, framed, panelled | Flat, slab, handleless |
| Hardware | Visible handles, decorative | Hidden or minimal |
| Worktop | Timber, painted or classic stone | Large-format quartz or stone, waterfall edges |
| Best suited to | Period homes, farmhouse kitchens | New builds, open-plan living |
Not sure which style fits your home? Come and stand in front of both.
